Do you have a bed? I didn't have one at first - I had a crate with a mini bed inside of it, but I got tired of sleeping in there so I pulled my blanket out of it and slept right outside of it.
My mom fell down the other day, and I think it was partly my fault. :( I pooped on the floor (again) and she went to clean it up, well she seemed more upset than usual....she went to step over the gate that keeps me in the kitchen (mom says I'm not allowed to walk on the carpet till I'm older, because she is tired of cleaning it...), well her foot caught on the gate and she tripped and fell really hard on the floor. The gate fell down with her....she started crying...I didn't know what to do, so I went and licked her and jumped all over her to see if she was ok. She just layed there for a little while...she hurt her leg (it looked really bad). :( Well it doesn't end there...after she flushed my poop, the toilet overflowed ALL over the bathroom floor. :( She was REALLY upset, because our roomate wasn't home and she was having a hard time walking...so she hobbled upstairs to get TONS of towels to clean up all the water....after that, we laid on the couch together. Mom had a big ice thing on her leg...so I layed at her feet and watched her leg to make sure it was ok...and I occasionally licked the cold icy thing.

Oh Maggie, your little bed is so comfy. If I come visit you, you think there's enough room there for me to snuggle in too?

We have beds too but they aren't where we are anymore because we kept chewing on them and un-stuffing them. Mom decided she didn't want to buy them if we were just going to rip them up.
How awful about your mom . Our mom has tripped over the gate too and she says it hurts really bad to fall down. She hangs onto the counter or the door when she steps over a gate now. We hope your mom gets to feeling better soon. Dachsie kisses have great healing power so she should be as good as new in no time at all!

Maggie this is your first mother and you need to start to behave a little more and do your poopy outside. Tell your Mommy we hope she feels better soon. Those gates are tricky cuz your first grandma did the same thing and hurt her knee. Maggie your bed sure is pretty. Glad you like your new bed baby.
Uh oh. Maggie, you are supposed to poop and pee outside, ya know? One time when I was a pup, I did poop outside like I was supposed to, but then I started to eat my poops. My dad rushed over to me to try to stop me, but he tripped on the sprinkler :-( He was okay, but the sprinkler wasn't. I hope your Mom feels better soon. Give her lots of licks and hugs.

I am 5 months old now and only poop outside when I happen to have to poop and I am already outside. Sometimes I pee inside too. My sister Lucy is 8 months old and she poops inside still too when no one is looking.
...Mom is on her 2nd carpet shampooer, she said the first one was over-used from Lucy...
Tell your mom you'll get it eventually, but dachshunds are tough to housetrain!
