Thanksgiving!

Well everydog and girl girl...this first Thanksgiving of mine was WONDERFUL! Oh my. There were some good smells coming from my kitchen! YUM!

Before I forget, my mom told me to say a BIG thank you for everyone who wished her a happy birthday! She had a really good day. :)

Besides good food, I helped my mom and grandma put up all the Christmas decorations last night. Our house looks SO beautiful! My grandpa and uncle set up the Christmas lights on the outside of the house tonight. I haven't seen those yet, but I am sure they are really pretty!

My mom, roommate and I took some pictures tonight. My mom and roommate thought it would be cute for all of us to wear sweaters....personally I thought it was dumb, but oh well. I was forced to wear my green Christmas sweater. Ugh. Does your human make you do that? Wear clothes?! UGH! The only thing I like about them is chewing on them.






Oh. And yes they are wearing the same sweaters. Dorks.

Today is my mom's...er...actually I don't know how old she is, but today is her birthday! Yay!I'll post pictures in a little while!

Hello all! I'm at my grandparents house! I looove it here! My grandma spoils me...I think she told my mom that I have to live with her forever. Hehe :) But I'll go home, I don't want my mom to get lonely. She's coming to see me next week for Thanksgivng! I can't wait!

Well...I want to introduce you to my frog brother and sister! My frog sister's name is Chanchita and my frog brother is Nemo. Chanchita is the fat one.

Mom took some new pictures of me while we were laying in her bed watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love barking at this movie! There are lots of funny noises...I had to protect my mom and me! :)




Mom said I am going to the doctor soon...she said I am being spayed...not sure what that means, but I am going to have to spend a night away from my mom. But, I don't have to go till I get back from my grandparents house.

Next blog...I need to introduce you to my frog brother and sister! I keep meaning to introduce you. :)

I'm alive!

Hello, hello everydog! I am alive and well. My mom is just a slacker. I have been telling her for WEEKS to let my dictate a new blog, but she kept coming up with excuses to not write a new blog. Ugh. Well, I finally got here to get on here! How are you? I hope you are doing good!!

Well, a lot has gone on recently...I have started losing my teeth! Not sure why...my mom is happy that I'm losing them. Mean huh? She said my puppy teeth were like little razors...I think she's crazy. But oh well! :) Let's see what else...oh, I got a new place that i sleep. Mom used to make me sleep in a little plastic box thing she calls a kennel. It was really small. Then she let me sleep in the kitchen, so I figured that was my cue that I could use the floor as my bathroom. Not quite the case. Now I sleep in a CAGE! ...it's not really that bad though...there is plenty of room to walk around, and play...I have towels, blankets, toys...so I guess it's not too bad.




My mom said that when I stop using the bathroom in the house I can sleep with her and not in the cage..so I guess i have to stay in the cage for now...

OH! I am going to see my grandparents in less than two weeks! I am going to get to go on my first plane flight!!! I am SO excited! Mom and I are going to visit my grandparents and uncle on Nov. 1 and then I am staying there till Thanksgiving. Mom has to come back to Richmond, but I am going to PARTAY with my grandma and grandpa!!! They are really excited about me coming...I'm excited too because i am going to get SPOILED!!! WOOHOO!!!

My mom is gone!!!! SHE LEFT ME!!!!

I don't understand, she hasn't been home since yesterday! :( She told me she would be back in two weeks, but that is waaaay tooooooo loooooong!!!!!!! April told me she went to Brazil and Uruguay. I'm not too sure where that is, but April said it's a looong way away. Is it too far for my mom to come home at night??? I DOUBT IT!!!

Well, April and I are going to parTAY while she is gone...picture it, me and April just hanging out on the couch, watching TV, playing with my toys, April feeding me, taking me out to do my business, feeding me some more, playing some more, watch some more TV! Sounds like a party huh?? I'm excited....but I still miss my mom. I miss her in the mornings when she comes and sits on the kitchen floor and rubs my tummy as I lounge in bed... :(

OH! I had a TRAUMATIC vet visit on Wednesday! I went and got my last puppy shot and my first rabies shot...well I was at the vet most of the day because mom likes for them to watch me (just in cause i have a reaction) while she is at work. Well it had been a few hours and no reaction...my mom came to pick me up around 4, and FIFTEEN minutes before she showed up my muzzle swelled to the width of my head and one of my eyes was almost closed shut and the other was on it's way to closing too...AND my ears were swollen (and still were when my mom left me on Thursday)...so I got another shot and everything started to unswell veeeery sloooowly...IT WAS TERRIBLE! My face was itching soooooo bad! I haven't talked to my mom today, but my ears are almost back to normal...everything else is fine, I think. :(

Well, I am sorry there are no pictures for your to enjoy, but mom didn't take any news ones before she left...I don't think...I need to check. If she did, i will upload them!

Mom says I am a wild dog! I have been running around like CRAZY for about the past 30 minutes! She said I'm acting like I have the just-had-a-bath-zoomies! Nope, I'm just hyper and need to exercise! I can't burn all the energy outside, because I get too hot. Mom doesn't want me to overheat. I don't want to overheat either....it gets extra hot since my fur is so dark!

Mom saif she is sorry she doesn't have any zoomie pictures - I was going too fast for her to get any good ones!

I have found that one of my favorite things to do is help mom shred all unnecesary papers she has...I know she appreciates it because she has a bag that she puts all the papers she needs to shred...I keep trying to convince her that I can shred them ALL for her, so that she doesn't have to take them to the work shredder, but she hasn't agreed yet. Not sure why? Do you help shred papers???



Look at that job well done!! If you ever need me to come shred for you, just let me know! I'm very efficient! :)


Weeell...I think I am going to take a nap now everydog and girl girl...I've worn my self out running around, barking at the FedEx guy and shredding paper...I will talk to you soon! *YAWN*

PART TWO - Making up for not blogging in about a week!

I went with my grandma outside to help her pack the car. I decided I wanted to go with her.

PART ONE - Grandparents!

I've had soooo much fun this weekend!!! My grandma and grandpa came to visit me! I loooove loooove them!!! They played with me sooo much! But they are leaving today. :( I'm sad, but I had a GREAT time helping my grandma pack her suitcase. She really appreciated my help, she kept telling me how sweet I was and how good and helpful I was. :)

Hershey and Copper!!!!

Hello, hello everydog and Girl Girl! I met Copper last night! My mom took me over to play with Hershey and Copper!!!!! It was soooo fun! You can go to Hershey's blog and watch a video of us! :) Our moms didn't take any pictures of us last night, but they will eventually, I'm sure. :) I can't wait to go over and play again! My mom is watching Hershey's sister Miriam on Saturday night...and she said that if I'm good she MIGHT bring me with her so I play with Hershey!!!!!

Oh! I went to the vet to get a shot today...it wasn't so bad. I wasn't as scared this time. I love all the attention I get at the vet! All the nice nurses played with me ALL day long...when the other dogs were in cages, guess where I was!!! At the front helping nurses check other dogs in!!! I got to play with all the nice people and wonderder around! It was sooooo fun! I was almost sad to leave, but I was happy to see my mom too! I get to go back to the vet in September! I'm excited!

OH! AND I WEIGH 4 POUNDS!!! Well, 4 and a couple of ounces...I have gained 2 pounds since my last visit! My mom asked if that was normal and they said it was...so I'm not fat. hehe My said I look skinny, but I'm normal according to the vet. :)

He's gone :(

My uncle left today. My mom and I are really sad. No more junmping from my mom's lap to my uncle's. No more walking on the back of the couch from my mom's shoulder to my uncle's. No more taking naps with my uncle. No more playing with him. No more sitting on his chest while he plays his video games. :(

I'm sad. BUT! Mom says we will see him again at Thanksgiving...I asked her what Thanksgiving is, and she said that it's the day we eat, watch the Macy's parade, eat, eat, watch football, nap, eat, eat...sounds like a good day to me! I can't wait! I will get to do all of that, see my uncle, my grandparents, my great-Papa, my great-Auntie AND go on a car ride with my mom and our roomate! WooHoo!


OH! And my grandparents (my mom's parents) are coming to visit us for the weekend! I'm reeeeally excited! I'm gonna get SPOOOOILED!!!!! :) So it's been a sad day, but I have some stuff to look forward too!

I got a new toy!

Meet Bobo, my new friend.


Mom bought him at Kohls when she went shopping tonight. She said she couldn't resist - it was only $2.50 AND all the money goes to help little kids!!! Pretty neat huh?


I love Bobo! It makes me feel strong...you should see my jumping on him, and pulling him around the kitchen. Oh yeah, I'm one tough puppy!



I was having some trouble getting Bobo over my mom's leg...he's so big!


Oh! I almost forgot! My uncle is the one who picked Bobo out for me!! Mom told him to choose one he thought I'd like - he made a good choice! I love my uncle!

Chillin'

I love love love my uncle Samuel! He is wonderful! He plays with me, feeds me and takes naps with me...what more could you want in an uncle??? HE'S GREAT! My mom is happy he is here too. She said she had been missing her family some, so I'm glad he was able to visit. Mom says he leaves on Monday. I don't want him to go! I like having someone at home ALL day long to play with me ALL day! Mom has to work during the week, so I'm alone sometimes...but not this week, tomorrow and until Monday I will have both my mom and my uncle home with me!!!! YAY!!!!!! I'm so excited, I could pee!!!!! But I won't...because that makes mom mad...here are some pictures of me and my uncle:

HOW GOD MADE DACHSHUNDS

God made a little dachsie
to brighten up our day
He took a bit of sunshine
Laughter, love, and play
and rolled it up in a sausage shape
just right for a hug,
with bright eyes full of mischief
set in its little mug.
With little paws a pattering,
to take it here and there
and a cold wet nose but then He thought,
"Oh, what about the hair?
Shall I make it long and silky,
or wiry, that's so sweet,
or make it simple, and have it smooth
and satiny and neat?
And what about the color?
How can I pick just one?

My secretary and roommate

Everydog and girl girl, I want to introduce you to my secretary (a.k.a my mom) and our roommate, April. My mom is the one cheesing on the left, and April on the right...they were trying to take this picture themselves, that's why April is halfway cut off. I think they were at a concert...



Well, my mom is a writer...she works with Hershey's dad! She moved to Richmond a little over a year ago from Atlanta. I have dachshund-aunt still living there with my grandma and grandpa (my mom's parents) named Penny. Mom likes to take me to Petsmart, but I'm not too sure I like going there yet...there are too many smells, my nose goes into overload! Speaking of smells, mom loves to bake. I love it when she does too because it smells SO good!!!! I only wish she would share and give me some! :( She said it will make me sick though...I think I can handle it. Oh, my mom has one brother, Samuel (who is coming to visit us TOMORROW! Mom is reeeally excited!)

April, our roommate, is gone for a little while. She went to Africa on a mission trip. She is in Kampala, Uganda. She and her group are going to work with AIDS children. Africa sounds so exicting! My mom loves to travel, so does April...I hope get to travel a lot when I grow up! April also works with the same company as my mom and Hershey's dad. But she isn't a writer, she helps coordinate events. Not sure what that means, but it sounds FUN! Oh, April is from Dallas, Texas! She loves Texas. Her family still lives there...I want to go to Texas! Have you ever been to Texas?

Beds and ice!

I got a bed! I got a bed! All of my own! I love it! It's black and fury...and there is enough room for me AND ALL of my tooooyssss!!!!!! I think it was made just for me. :) Mom says I look cute with my arm hanging over the side of my bed.



Do you have a bed? I didn't have one at first - I had a crate with a mini bed inside of it, but I got tired of sleeping in there so I pulled my blanket out of it and slept right outside of it.



My mom fell down the other day, and I think it was partly my fault. :( I pooped on the floor (again) and she went to clean it up, well she seemed more upset than usual....she went to step over the gate that keeps me in the kitchen (mom says I'm not allowed to walk on the carpet till I'm older, because she is tired of cleaning it...), well her foot caught on the gate and she tripped and fell really hard on the floor. The gate fell down with her....she started crying...I didn't know what to do, so I went and licked her and jumped all over her to see if she was ok. She just layed there for a little while...she hurt her leg (it looked really bad). :( Well it doesn't end there...after she flushed my poop, the toilet overflowed ALL over the bathroom floor. :( She was REALLY upset, because our roomate wasn't home and she was having a hard time walking...so she hobbled upstairs to get TONS of towels to clean up all the water....after that, we laid on the couch together. Mom had a big ice thing on her leg...so I layed at her feet and watched her leg to make sure it was ok...and I occasionally licked the cold icy thing.

Bath day...blah...

I had a bath today. Not sure that I liked it too much. Well, actually, I pretty much hated it. Mom said I smelled like a dog!! Can you believe that?! I don't tell her she smells like a human!! The nerve. THEN! April (our roomate) and her kept taking pictures of me wrapped up in a towel. I kept grunting and whining, but they wouldn't put me down...eventually (after they got the perfect picture...shouldn't they all be perfect??) thye put in my bed....soooo.....I got out of my bed, and pooped on the floor. Serves them right, they won't ever give me a bath again! Ha! Ha!



...right after that, mom put me on this loooog string thing that was connected to the annoying, jingling thing around my neck. I don't like that thing!!!!!!! I kept rolling around and biting it, trying to get it off. And do you know what April and my mom were doing???? LAUGHING!!!!! They kept telling me to 'calm down' and stuff...if they were on a long string, they wouldn't be 'calm' and they wouldn't laughing!!!! Maybe mom was punishing me because I pooped on the floor? She said I needed to get used to the string thing, because I can almost outrun her....hmmm....nah, she feeds me and loves on me, I think I'll stay here. :)

Fat??

Remember me mentioning how I was going to have to get a shot? Well I went...and it hurt, but my mom gave me a treat at the same time...so I cried and chewed at the same time...Dr. Mary felt bad, so she gave me another cookie! I'm going to have to cry next time so I can have an extra cookie!!

Well mom left me with Dr. Mary while she went to work...she said she didn't want to leave me alone, just in case the shot made me sick. Weeelll....they fed me A LOT whne I was there! I LOVED IT! I wish my mom would take me there EVERYDAY! Mom says I look fat in this picture, I don't think so...I think the camera just added some poundage to my tummy area!

I love laundry days!!!

I love to help my mom fold clothes!! It's one of my favorite things I do...mom says I get 'over-zealous.' Does anyone know what that means??? I just looooove clothes!!!!!!!!

My mom took me to the vet yesterday. She was afraid I was sick (I was having 'business' problems)...Dr. Lucie did some test called a palvo or something like that? Mom was really worried. She felt so bad because she couldn't stay with me the whole time - she said she has to go to Washington D.C. for work (but she came back just in time for dinner!). Hershey's dad came and picked me up from the vet...Hershey's mom and baby couldn't come because they were taking care of Hershey. :)

Dr. Lucie gave me some special food that I LOOOOVE! I am SO much better today! I love Dr. Lucie, she is so nice! Is your doctor nice??? I get to go back on Thursday...mom said I'm probably not going to be too happy then though...what are shots? She said I'm getting my third puppy shots? Not sure what this means, so I'm a little nervous. :(

Picture crazy mom!

Not sure what got into my mom, but she just kept following me around calling my name so I would look at her and then this BRIGHT flashing light went off. She said she was taking my picture...but I think she might have been trying to blind me. Actually, come to think of it, she did turn the flash off after a little while. So that was nice...but it was still SUPER annoying when I was trying to do my business outside and mom kept interrupting me while I was looking for the PERFECT spot, JUST so she could take another picture of me! Moms!

Do your parents take pictures of you all the time???

I guess since mom went to all the effort I will share some of the pictures she took!
